Job Title 

Senior Software Engineer – SAP Basis 

Experience 

5-8 years 

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent experience. 

• Ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 

• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency. 

• Ability to meet SLA timelines. 

• Ability to stay up to date with all relevant SOPs as per company policy and relevant to the job role. 

• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude. 

Preferred but not required:  

• Lean Sigma. 

Roles and responsibilities 

• SAP Basis L2/L3 level support as part of Global Technical Team managing multiple SAP systems like ECC, BW, XI/PI, SCM, SOLMAN, BOBJ, EP, GRC, HCM along with non-SAP components like SEAL, TREX, MDM, IXOS, IDOS etc. 

• Oversee all aspects of Application Life Cycle Management like installation, system upgrades, OSS notes, kernel patches, support packages etc. 

• Identify problem trends by evaluating performance statistics and conducting daily monitoring to ensure the SAP systems are optimized. 

• Oversee database administration with special focus on ORACLE, MS SQL, HANA DB along with underlying operating systems (Windows, Linux). 

• Maintain the integrity of the SAP & non-SAP environments by managing the correction and transport system (CTS) to ensure all configuration objects are promoted properly. 

• Provide technical support for SAP issues like system dumps, job management, printer & spool administration along with enabling SAP user community in all matters related to SAP. 

• Perform system refreshes, client copies and server migrations. 

• Create & maintain SAP Basis documentation with regards to System operational procedures & instructions including changes to SAP landscape architecture. 

• Adherence to SAP Basis on-call support. 

• Liaise with cross functional teams & business users to drive continuous improvement initiatives while remaining current with emerging industry standards. 

• Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target. 

• Comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times. 

• Keep track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members. 

Note: 

Additional requirements for the position: 

• 10% travel, including global travel. 

• Occasional on-call work. 

• Preferred shift timings: 12 PM – 9 PM IST India. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.
