Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced SAFe Agilist (SAFe 6.0) to lead the implementation of the SAFe framework in our organization. This role will be crucial in establishing and scaling Agile processes, ensuring that the SAFe methodology is adopted effectively, and driving the alignment of teams towards Agile practices. You will play a pivotal role in building the SAFe infrastructure by hiring and mentoring the right talent, guiding the successful delivery of projects, and assisting with financial models and proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- SAFe Framework Implementation & Infrastructure:
- Lead the creation and scaling of the SAFe framework within the organization, aligning teams and processes to Agile principles.
- Build the necessary infrastructure by hiring and developing highly effective SAFe Scrum Masters, and guiding them to create high-performing teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization within Agile teams across multiple value streams.
- Guidance for SAFe Project Setup:
- Assist in the establishment of SAFe-aligned projects and provide ongoing coaching to ensure alignment with Agile Release Train (ART) and other SAFe processes.
- Work with business stakeholders and leadership to set up cross-functional teams and guide the coordination between Agile teams, stakeholders, and business units.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish ARTs and launch Program Increment (PI) planning sessions.
- Project Proposal & SAFe 6.0 Knowledge:
- Work with cross-functional teams to craft project proposals that align with SAFe 6.0 methodologies.
- Provide expert guidance on how to structure, execute, and manage Agile projects within the SAFe framework.
- Ensure that project proposals incorporate best practices, including PI planning, cadence, and synchronization.
- Financial & Billing Models for Projects:
- Assist in analyzing project requirements and help create project proposals with a focus on financial models, billing structures, and value delivery.
- Collaborate with finance teams to define cost structures and appropriate financial models for SAFe-based projects (e.g., fixed-price vs. time and materials).
- Develop and suggest billing models based on the organization’s needs and client expectations, ensuring alignment with Agile best practices.
- Training & Mentoring:
- Provide training to Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, and teams on SAFe practices, Agile methodology, and how to effectively implement SAFe in the organization.
- Act as a mentor and coach for leadership and teams to ensure successful adoption of SAFe principles and methodologies.
- Continuous Improvement & Metrics:
- Drive continuous improvement efforts, implementing feedback loops and fostering an environment that promotes adaptive, data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the success of SAFe implementation and the performance of Agile teams.
- Stakeholder Communication & Alignment:
- Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and Agile teams, ensuring alignment on project goals, expectations, and timelines.
- Communicate and collaborate with senior leadership to maintain alignment of Agile initiatives with business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Certified SAFe Agilist (SA), or equivalent certification.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile coaching, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience implementing SAFe in large organizations.
- Proven experience in establishing and scaling Agile practices, with a deep understanding of SAFe 6.0 framework (latest version).
- Strong track record of building and leading Agile teams, including hiring and developing Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches.
- Experience with Agile project financial modeling, including budgeting, billing structures, and cost optimization.
- Expertise in leading Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and facilitating Program Increment (PI) Planning, system demos, and retrospectives.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to analyze and transform business requirements into scalable Agile processes.
- Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, VersionOne, Rally) and other project management tools.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in other Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) or methodologies.
- Knowledge of Lean and DevOps practices.
- Background in financial analysis, cost modeling, or project management in a consulting environment.
Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
